I have provided scans of the pages Dick appears in. The text is too small to read... this is deliberate. The purpose of the scans is to show other fans the scope of Dick's role. If you want to read, you will need to buy a copy of the comic... and support DC writers and artists.

"But There Were Consequences For Us"
Story Arc:

After:
Batwing #6
Next:
Batwing #8
Summary:

Batwing and Batman race back to the city hoping to stop the killer Massacre from assassinating the last two members of Africa's lost super-team, The Kingdom! Meanwhile, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Robin are already on the ground leading the search.

With Batgirl slipping back into her Oracle role and feeding Batman and Nightwing intel, Batman on his way with Batwing, Nightwing and Robin are left on the ground searching for the missing members. Dick is portrayed as intelligent, capable and competent. It is great to see Dick and Damian together again. These two have a dynamic that Bruce and Damian don't. I have rated this 'excellent' because despite the fact Dick only has a minor role, I love what the writer did with him.

After finding the two missing members dead, Nightwing and Robin are contronted with both Massacre and a giant robot.

Batwing #7

Summary:

Nightwing and Robin keep Massacre and the robot (suite of armor being operated remotely) busy until Batman and Batwing arrive. Then Batwing takes on Massacre while Nightwing, Robin and Batman combine to take down the robot. We see fantastic teamwork from this trio. Once the armor is taken down, the security protocol activates and the team only have seconds to escape before it explodes.

Again, Dick is portrayed as competent and capable. I really like this writer's interpretation of him. We see characteristic diaologue as well.

Again, while Dick only has a minor role, it is excellent.

Back in Gotham, we discover the Penguin seems to have something to do with what is going on and he is particularly pleased all pieces are falling into place.

Comment:
While Dick has only a minor role in this story it is very enjoyable. Winick has a lovely grasp of how Dick uses humour to deal with situations. Batwing is very serious and straight and Dick balances this nicely with his light wit which is why I'm assuming he keeps appearing. A couple of examples of this below.

All in all, a great Dick showing.

Artist - I don't mind this artist.

Title:
"I See All of It"
Story Arc:
-
After:
Batwing #10
Next:
Batwing #12
Official Summary:
BATWING faces off against the deadly Beijing gangster dragon known as LONG! Guest-starring NIGHTWING! BATWING’S armor is equipped with a new array of Bat-gadgets!

Summary:
While Batwing deals with the supernatural Long/Dragon, Nightwing is left to keep the rest of the gang occupied until the USB stick is finished downloading Deng’s internet records. Once the download is complete, we see Dick move into first gear and dispense with the thugs he’d been keeping busy.

He then leaps out a window, Batwing catching him and two head off to continue their investigation into Deng.

Matu Ba, Batwing’s Alfred type equivalent, then tells Batwing he’s headed to Tundi to bury his family, despite Batwing’s warnings against such a move.

Nightwing and Batwing follow the internet trail to Uzbekistan. While Batwing works on the computer, Nightwing takes care of the thugs. Finally, the trails leads back to the Penguin in Gotham… so it is over to Batman.

Comment:
Dick plays second fiddle to Batwing, but I’m comfortable with this considering it is Batwing’s book. It is just great to see Dick popping into so many books.

Again, we see Dick’s humour on offer. I’ve really enjoyed this and the last issue. Winick has written Dick has very capable and totally in control of each situation… even if Batwing is calling the shots because it is his book.

Summary:

Between them Batman and Matu realize realize Lord Battle’s powers are tied to the land itself. Batwing throws him over of the border where he quickly loses power. To everyone’s horror, it appears the prosperity and vitality of the land is dependent on his presence.

Thus, he is sentenced to imprisonment within the borders and he willing complies to keep his land and people healthy.

Comment:
I found this disappointing after the promise in the preceding stories. First, we seem to Batwing calling the shots. Now, I know it is his book, but Batman is involved and there is NO way he would take a secondary role.

Next, while Dick is lead of one of the three teams involved, he plays a very weak role… basically useless. When the three groups come together, there is no leader, thus the attack is uncoordinated and ineffective. There is no way Dick would allow this to happen. He is a born leader and definitely would have stepped into the role. I know this is the NEW 52, but surely Dick's leadership gifts haven't been stripped from him.

This is a poor showing of Dick.
