I have provided scans of the pages Dick appears in. The text is too small to read... this is deliberate. The purpose of the scans is to show other fans the scope of Dick's role. If you want to read, you will need to buy a copy of the comic... and support DC writers and artists.

Summary:
I wrote the following in italics about the last Batman Beyond series. It is reproduced here.

If you like this universe, don't read my review. I don't like this universe... I want to make that clear from the outset. The entire premesis on which it is built does not work for me. The Batman Legacy is not handed down to one of Bruce's team or sons. Rather, it goes to a stranger. In this universe, Tim is/was alligned with the Joker and Dick is alienated from everyone. I believe the only way this universe could have worked would have been for all of Batman's former colleagues and sons to be dead. Then maybe he might turn to a stranger.

Dick is drawn with harsh features in this universe... doesn't work for me. Of course, this reflects the way his characters is written. While a character can be transfered from universe to universe the essence of the the character should remain the same or it may as well be another character. The character given the name Dick Grayson in this series bares few common characteristics to the Dick of most others. The only thing these two seem to have in common is a stubborn nature, a thirst for justice, a calling to protect those in need and bravery. But then, isn't that true of most heroes. For me, this is just a character that shares Dick's name. There are Elseworld characters that don't quite share his name (Robin Redblade, Red-wing) who are clearly Dick Grayson.

Quite frankly, if you are a Dick Grayson fan, give this entire universe a miss.

Now to this issue. A sleazy ex-detective has told the public he has evidence Dick Grayson used to be Nightwing so Terry dresses in a Nightwing costume to prove this isn't so. I'm offended on Dick's behalf. No one asked Dick if he wanted this. Nightwing does not belong to Bruce. It is something Dick developed on his own. Terry's plan is for the public to see Nightwing and Dick at the same time. Dick ruins the plans by admitting to a crowd of media he was Nighwing - the first paid employee of Batman Inc. So, we are to be believe that Batman Inc exists on this Earth (Earth 12) as well. Dick says he was paid by a third party and never saw Batman unmasked. Bruce's response: "Why Dick? Why?" Actually, I think Dick did this for you, Bruce. He has protected your identity stopping people from putting two and two together and coming up with the fact you were probably the first Batman.

The press point out that Dick has probably made himself a target for old enemies. Dick's response: "I was instructed to be one of the best, toughest and most dangerous fighters on the planet. I haven't forgotten a thing. Anyone who wants to try me, knows where to find me." And he slams the door in their faces. In this universe the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree.
