I have provided scans of the pages Dick appears in. The text is too small to read... this is deliberate. The purpose of the scans is to show other fans the scope of Dick's role. If you want to read, you will need to buy a copy of the comic... and support DC writers and artists.

Summary:
The story opens with Jean Paul fighting two metahumans. He is defeated, tossed into quarry filled with water and left to die. Meanwhile, Dr. Thompkins has discovered he is ill and needs immedaite medical treatment. Oracle calls in Nightwing. Great scene When Nightwing responds...

Oracle - I'd ask how you got pas my secrity system this time, but you'd only tell me how inadequate it is. Nightwing: Actually, it's quite good.

Nightwing tracks down the woman who sent Jean Paul after the metahumans and convinces her to tell him where Jean Paul is. Dick comes across the brothers who are cleaning up after the fight with Azreal. The story finishes with one of the brothers sneaking up behind him.

Summary:
Nightwing battles the metahuman brothers. Jean Paul reappears. Nighwing tries to convince him to return to receive treatment but he refuses. Once they defeat the brothers, Nightwing asks Jean Paul to promise to go back to Gotham to recevie treatment. Not my favourite Nightwing story. The worst part was Dr. Thompkins calling Dick 'Nightbird'... as if she really doesn't know who he is. Quite silly really.

He races back to the batcave, attacks Alfred and takes off is his Azbat outfit.

Best two lines from Dick... when describing Azreal "Nuttier than a Pecan tree."... when decribing Batman, "He's not as far gone as Azrael, but he's not exactly 'Mr Mental Health', either.(g)

Summary:
I cringed a bit with this one. Granted it is an Azrael title so I can accept Azrael being protrayed the 'best' but it grates when I have to read Dick apparently admitting it. Dick appears on one page discussing Azrael. Oracle asking him if he can stop him and Dick responds that they had the same teacher and the Jean Paul is faster and stronger. Not my favourite Nightwing moment.

Summary:
Nightwing rescues Jean Paul and Dr. Thompkins. Great 'discussion' betwen Dick and Leslie. She tells him in no uncertain terms that she isn't impressed with his methods and he apologies... then she thanks him for saving their lives. Jean Paul puts his costume on for the last time and goes off to face his nemesis. In the battle, he and the other fall... as the do so, Jean Paul appears to Batman telling him that none of this is his fault and that the place he is going looks like Earth. Afterwards there is no sign of Jean Paul... and it appears he is gone forever but has finally found peace. Dick appears on only three pages at the beginning of the story.
